The Power of a Check-In

The Power of a Check-In

Have you ever had one of those days where your mind is racing, your body feels tense, and even though you’re ticking things off your list, you still feel… off?

That’s your body and soul asking for a check-in.

In our world of constant doing, we often forget to be. We forget to pause and ask:

How am I, really?

This week, I want to guide you through a practice I do every Sunday night (but you can do it any day). It’s a five-minute self-care ritual that helps me reconnect, recalibrate, and re-energise for the week ahead.

Self-Care Journal Prompt: “Check-In & Recharge”

Open your journal and answer the following:

  1. How am I feeling?
Physically, emotionally, mentally—what’s happening in your body and mind?
  2. What’s draining me right now?
Is there something I’m holding on to that I need to release?
  3. What’s filling me up?
Who or what made me smile this week?
  4. What does my body need?
    Rest? Movement? Nourishment?
  5. What’s one small act of self-care I can give myself today?
Something nourishing, not numbing. (A walk, a bath, a good cry, a proper meal…)

Then finish with this:

“Right now, I choose to care for myself by __________.”

This ritual is small but powerful. When we name what we need, we honour ourselves. And when we honour ourselves, we glow.

You’re worth showing up for. Not just when things are polished, but in the messy middle, too.

Let me know how this lands for you—I love hearing what comes up.

With love,

Lexie xx
